What are fillers?

Fillers are a cosmetic injection that adds volume under your skin. Many of the visible signs of aging, including sagging, lines, and wrinkles, develop from volume loss.

Fillers act as a volume replacer to:

What are the different brands of fillers?

Juvéderm®

Juvéderm is a brand of fillers that contains hyaluronic acid, which is a substance naturally found in your body that helps retain moisture in your skin. Aesthetica Houston Med Spa uses Juvéderm Ultra, Voluma™ XC, Volbella™ XC, and Vollure™ XC.  

Restylane®

Restylane is also a hyaluronic acid filler. The line includes Restylane-L®, Restylane Lyft, Restylane Silk, Restylane Refyne, and Restylane Defyne.  

Bellafill®

Bellafill is a collagen-based filler with polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) microspheres. It provides immediate, long-lasting results.

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) with fillers

To enhance the longevity of your filler injections, Sarah may suggest combining your fillers with PRP, which is a form of regenerative medicine that stimulates collagen production.  

What happens during treatment with fillers?

Sarah is a master injector who reviews the details of your filler injections at your initial consultation. She may first apply a numbing agent to your skin to minimize discomfort during your beauty treatment.

Sarah then injects the selected filler into specific areas of your skin to get the desired results. She adds enough filler to correct the problem without making you look overdone. You may experience some facial redness at the injection site.

Results are immediate, and there’s no need for downtime following your filler injections. However, Sarah recommends you skip any strenuous physical activity for at least 24 hours. 

Your results may last anywhere from six months to a year or more, depending on the type of fillers used.
